Natural comfort meets performance: SALOMON’S PULSAR PRG KNIT boasts Merino wool upgrade

Soft, durable and built for performance, leading sportswear brand SALOMON has redefined its PULSAR PRG KNIT shoe for winter. Teaming with The Woolmark Company, this updated take of the popular sportstyle shoe includes a knitted upper crafted from Merino wool, gaining the prestigious Wool Blend Performance certification.

The re-emergence of the use of wool is a relatively new development in footwear that has been prompted by cooperative activity between The Woolmark Company and the manufacturers of performance footwear. Innovations in both product and processing have driven new opportunities for wool in the footwear industry. Breakthrough developments by leading spinners for yarns suitable for footwear, teamed with advancements in technology, have led to innovative product developments such as SALOMON’S PULSAR PRG KNIT which harness the renewable and technical benefits of the wool fibre, offering a natural solution to a market so heavily dominated by synthetic materials.

Every product certified by The Woolmark Company has gone through a rigorous five-step process to earn the iconic endorsement. Woolmark-certified products guarantee durability, performance, fibre content and exacting quality standards.

The vamp area of the PULSAR PRG KNIT is made from 30% Merino wool, harnessing the performance and eco benefits of this 100% natural, renewable, biodegradable and recyclable fibre. Merino wool offers unbeatable thermoregulation, moisture management and breathability properties, making it the perfect choice for a performance-driven environment. Split-suede leather allows for longer wear and durability as well as a premium, rich finish. Packable and travel-ready, the PULSAR PRG KNIT offers fluid motion for all seasons.

“SALOMON has long been a global leader in the sports and outdoor industry, and we are pleased to help the brand put its best foot forward by incorporating Merino wool into its Sportstyle range for the first time,” explains The Woolmark Company Managing Director John Roberts. “Merino wool's inherent performance benefits and environmental benefits have been driving new opportunities for the fibre in the footwear market, and SALOMON’S new PULSAR PRG KNIT with a Merino wool upper is a fantastic example of innovation and product development.”
